THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a sharp, data-driven professional to become the single source of truth for VinUni‘s research metrics. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Research & Innovation (VPRI), you will own the university‘s research data ecosystem (publications, citations, grants, rankings) and turn numbers into decision-ready insights that shape research strategy across all Colleges and Centers. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Own the research data ecosystem

• Build and maintain live dashboards (publications, citations, grants, ranking indicators) as the single source of truth for leadership KPI reporting

• Manage research data infrastructure end-to-end: Scopus/Web of Science integration, internal research information systems, and the master dataset of research personnel across all Colleges and Centers

• Ensure data accuracy and standardization through regular update cycles — proactively flagging anomalies before they reach leadership reports
  Turn data into decisions

• Deliver institutional reports, benchmarking, and analytics that shape research strategy, rankings positioning, and investment decisions

• Support development of the pre-award/post-award grant management system (proposal tracking, budget monitoring, compliance milestones), integrated with research dashboards

• Act as the go-to partner for Centers/Colleges: SOPs, training, data standards (ORCID, Scopus profiles, affiliations), and discrepancy resolution

• Coordinate with Finance/Legal on compliance data for funder reporting, and with Marketing/Communications on public-facing research metrics
  Support the VPRI‘s office

• Provide coordination support to the VPRI as needed: tracking key decisions and action items across units, and consolidating multi-unit inputs into decision-ready materials
  WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor‘s/Master‘s degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Research Administration, or related field

• 3–5+ years in institutional research, research analytics, or research administration (higher education, funding agency, or R&D context strongly preferred)

• Advanced Excel, SQL, and Power BI; hands-on experience with Scopus/SciVal/Web of Science and ranking methodologies (QS, THE)

• Understanding of the research grant lifecycle (pre-award/post-award)

• Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and stakeholder management across units with competing priorities

• Ability to synthesize multi-unit inputs into clear, decision-ready materials under tight deadlines

• Fluent English; Vietnamese proficiency preferred

• Nice to have: experience building institutional dashboards or research information systems; familiarity with research integrity/COI considerations; experience in a multi-center or matrix research organization.
