Job overview
We are looking for a Data Engineer with a strong backend engineering foundation to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines, data services, and cloud-based data platforms.
The ideal candidate should have solid experience in data engineering, backend development, databases, and cloud infrastructure, with the ability to work across data integration, APIs, ETL/ELT, and production operations.
This role is ideal for:

• VinUni alumni with strong foundations in AI, ML, or data

• Engineers trained in VinBigData/ VinAI.. P&L programs
  Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data integration services from multiple internal and external data sources.

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs for data ingestion, access, synchronization, and system integration.

• Design and optimize databases, data models, data warehouses/lakes, and analytical workloads for performance and scalability.

• Develop and operate cloud-based data platforms on AWS/Azure/GCP, leveraging managed compute, storage, database, and data processing services.

• Implement and maintain workflow orchestration, batch/stream processing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and infrastructure automation.

• Ensure data quality, security, governance, reliability, and availability, while collaborating with Backend, DevOps, BI, and business teams.
  Qualifications:
  Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, System Engineering, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or related software engineering roles.

• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Node.js, or similar backend technologies.

• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL, including data modeling and query optimization.

• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion processes, and integrating data from APIs, databases, files, or messaging systems.

• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, Microservices Architecture, distributed systems, and backend application development.

• Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Good understanding of data security, access control, monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting.

• Graduates or engineers trained within Vingroup programs or VinUni alumni are highly encouraged.
  Nice to have

• Experience with cloud data services such as AWS S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, EMR, or equivalent services on Azure/GCP.

• Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Argo Workflows, AWS Step Functions, or similar technologies.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event-streaming/message queue platforms.

• Experience with Spark, PySpark, or distributed data processing frameworks.

• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, Loki, or OpenTelemetry.

• Experience designing or operating Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or modern Data Platform architectures.
